ADOPTION PROCESS

In simplest terms, the adoption process consists of two steps: the preparation of your paperwork, referred to as the "dossier" and the submission of your dossier to the court in the country where your adoptive child is located.

The private adoption process (also called the independent adoption process), has several advantages, not the least of which is much greater access to information about the child.

The Project is staffed with professionals who will assist you with every step. A licensed social worker will help you prepare your dossier, which includes the required home study.

The dossier will be translated (all translations are done in-house, giving you greater accuracy at a lower cost), and sent to the country where your child is located. One of our attorneys will then prepare the requisite petition to the court to finalize your adoption.

Our staff members have extensive experience in the former Soviet Union. They are fully familiar with the procedures in Russia and Ukraine. They are true professionals, and also work in the Caucasus and Central Asia!

Before you know it, you will be notified of your court date, and you will travel for your court appearance. A member of our staff will meet you at the airport and serve as your guide, assistant, and translator during your trip.
